Project Update July 10, 2010

Update on what I’m working on behind the scenes.

Hey folks,

I hope you enjoyed “Lilac Park“.  As most of you know, a lot of the stuff I’m working on are larger projects, so you won’t be seeing them for some time. As far as the website goes, I had technically finished it, only to find out that there were some very necissary changes to be made. I set my deadline for the fifteenth. Then you will all get to see the fruits of my first paid web-design project eva. :D

I’m still working on a comic script for an artist, although we’ll have to see how our schedules look this upcoming year.

I’m working on a script version of “Snow in November” for a film-maker who’s interested in trying it out.

I’m working on a script version of the first few pages of the book for Chris Neir.

Then of course, there’s the book.

So I’m busy.

Anyway. Hit me up on the contact page if you have questions or requests. I like requests.

Peace.

Update July 2, 2010

Quickie about what I’m working on, and why you’ve seen less of me recently.

Hey!

The website is almost done, and by almost done, I mean I just have to slap up a nice looking home page and it’ll be good to go. I’ll put up a nice, fancy featured post on the banner on the main page in honor of it. I’ve been hard at work on that for a long time, and it’s been quite the experience. More web design work than I put into this site and that is saying something. It was definitely a 40 – 50 hour project, and that doesn’t count what hours were spent taking Facebook breaks.

I’ve also been working on SoaMW, which is my acronym for Signature of a Motorized World, my up and coming book! It’s not anywhere near done, but I’ve been moving into part two this past week since I finished editing the first half of the book.

I also have a short story in the works based off the ficly “Lilac Park and Grey Snow” which can be found after the jump. I think if I do this story well, it could be a really excellent example of my writing. We’ll see. Someone recommended that I turn one of my ficly’s into a short film. As of right now, that isn’t a top priority of mine, so I won’t be going around to production groups with scripts quite yet, but if anyone happens to have a camera, go for it! Just send me an email ;D

This is also the first post to this site from my new college laptop. Ithaca College, anyone?

Poster: SoaMW

Been rather busy as of late, but here’s something you might like.

I’m halfway done with the book, and I’ve been hard at work on both that and the website, which, yes, will eventually get done. Lot of work…

Anyway, here’s a poster for you all.

Signature of a Motorized World Sample

Time for a sample of what I’m working on! Part of the book from the 45 page mark.

I don’t know who “they” are, but they’re usually right. They say you come into this word screaming and crying and covered in blood, and that you should hope never to go out like that. My eyes dart open and adjust to a bright light. Someone is slapping my face. I shake my head, swat the flashlight out of my eyes, and stand up. Raffir Tin is standing over me with Ed next to him. I’m covered in dust. I must have passed out in a pile of trash. I wonder if you can die from narcolepsy.

“Sarge Iron has been calling you for an hour.” Tin says.

I check my phone, twenty missed calls. All from the same number.

“He’s pretty pissed, I won’t lie.”

The lights are still very dim. I ask Ed how long ago I left his store.

Not long apparently.

Sounds of creaking from all around.

Raffir Tin wears a big beard, but he’s always combing it, and now it looks like he tapped whatever silky hair was left from his head onto his face. We’ve all got our nervous ticks. Tin combs, Ed bites his nails, Gregg Copper scratches his head, and Roger has sex. I don’t know if you could consider that a tick, but he does it a lot, and apparently he does it very well because even the hookers come back for more. He usually arrests them when they step into the police station.

Me? I don’t know. Apparently I loose sleep. I don’t know if it helps, because I feel so effing paranoid all the time. Roger tells me to be grateful for my wife. He says I’m lucky to have her because most of the women who go for my signature five o’clock shadow, drooling, sniffling, dizzy look are the one’s who’ve got it too.

I.. uh. I’m not much into that.

Up Next with BSC

Ficly? I think NOT! Read on for more details.

I could start yapping, and then this portfolio-ish site would become a blog, and god only knows how I get bored of those. So I won’t yap. Here’s a quick update.

Went through some recording of the band just now. Nothing I’m really interested in posting. Nothing all that great. It was our first practice since before my teacher past away, so it was good to get back together. I think we were all a little rusty. On Friday we’ll have practice again, and hopefully I’ll take some recordings before I have to go run out to a poetry event called “Rhythm and Rhyme” which I infallibly have to use spell-check to get right. I’m hoping we can get you folks a cover of Dream Theater’s “These Walls” over the weekend.

Didn’t write a ficly today. Bummer, I know. The recent lack of comments on my stuff is a bit of a downer, but beyond that- I’ve been spending significantly more time on the book (Signature of a Motorized World), which is over 60 standard pages (8.5×11) in length. That roughly 112 pages in book size. Take THAT 4-6 page English paper due next Friday, and 2 page Economics paper due May 19th!

Keep in mind that while a Ficly tomorrow is unlikely given my schedule, I will try to put some out over the weekend, provided it doesn’t get in the way of me book. (Which I am lovingly going to refer to by the acronym SMW.

Update 4/21/10 & New Official Book Title

Quick update about the book and the band. No ficly today.

Hey ladies and gents,

I’m focusing on writing the book (which has been re-named to the vastly more appropriate “Signature of a Motorized World“) right now, and I’ve hit just over 60 pages. I’ve got a while to go, and I think the Ficly thing has been distracting me. I might not do one a day from now on. I don’t know. I’d also like to write a really good short story, but it’s so much harder that I thought it would be. You gotta be really inspired to write one of those.

As far as Canistel goes, we’ve been working on new songs. On Tuesday we’ll be practicing with a keyboardist for the first time. Looks like we’ll be doing the Talent Show, the Amnesty International Benefit Concert, and maybe the All-Night Graduation. We’ll see.

That’s all for now folks. I’ll post something for youse guys to read tomorrow. I promise.
